Some people asked how to help contributing to this database besides commenting and uploading screens.

Well, that's alot easier now!
I'm running two BeBot-Chatbots on my server now, one on Asgard (German RP-PVP) and one on the PVP Testlive Server.

Both are running on chars called Askbot.

So in future, if you are in one of the 2 mentioned servers, you can type:
/tell Askbot itemreg [drag&drop item here]

You can registrate many items on one sweep by just queueing them up...

I know that some may want to register any single item found and they are free to do that, but consider that I got like 99% of all lower level items (BeBot is not my only source). The focus should be on the T1/T2 Armor and PVP-Armor, where still alot is lacking.

Especially the PVP-Armor is easy obtainable on TestLive, so if you are creating a new toon anyway, just link your new PVP-Set to Askbot.

I've enabled some other services on Askbot like /roll, /whois and so on, so if Helpbot is down, you can still roll on your stuff:
/tell Askbot roll 100 : to roll a random number between 1-100
/tell Askbot verify [verificationNumber] : To verify the roll
/tell Askbot whois [playerName] : Get class and level from char name
....

I just know the basics and arrange all my queries in a fashion I think reasonable.
The database doesn't seem to be the fastest at times, so I wanted some person with expertise check on the database configuration and queries before thinking about upgrading my server.]]>

You should be able to post normally again, there was something I forgot to set up on the cookies while moving this board to askkalanthes.com and I'm sorry for that.

I've set the registration now to an email-based activation as it seems more secure against spam-bots.

I'm hearing some performance issues with the site, so I tuned the apache server abit, will have to optimize the sql-server tho, as the main slugginess come from that...

In future: if they are any problems, try contacting me ASAP. I was not aware of any of these issues as it worked perfectly fine on my machine.

Always try to make pictures with the armor standing against the light, to be able to see all details introduced by the normal map.
At larger items like Chestpieces, Legs or Weapons try to catch the essence in a context, so try to get full Char on it.
A slight screenshot of only the weapon does not help alot as the looks is clear from the 3D-Model. You won't have any information about the size or the fitting to the char.

Store Picture as JPG, mostly a qualitylevel of 85/100 is fine or a size of 100KB on larger pictures.]]>
